Journal Update--8/28/10

Hello everyone!

We're nearing the end of another busy summer season.  We've had a truly great time playing our old favorite shore spots--places like The Springfield, The Princeton, and The Inn--as well as bunch of new venues such as Martell's, Wicked Wolf and the Hardware Bar in Harrisburg.  It has been busy, but it's a good kind of busy!  As we move into Labor Day Weekend, we actually have a late addition to our calendar the needs mentioning:  we are back for an encore season-ending performance at Flip Flopz in North Wildwood this Thursday, September 2nd.   These Flip Flopz shows have been tremendous fun right in the heart of the North Wildwood club district.  Make a little trip out of it...party with us at Flip Flopz, grab a hotel nearby, get some beach time in on Friday then head up the Garden State Parkway a few miles to catch us at the legendary Springfield in Sea Isle City on Friday night.   Ask anyone about DDS at The Springfield...you haven't really experienced a Jersey Shore summer until you've partied with DDS at The Springfield.  Moving up the coast, the band will be playing at Surf City Beach Club in Surf City on Saturday night.   Our man Scott, the unofficial "mayor" of the Surf City Beach Club, will be in rare form that night for sure!  Finally, we close out Labor Day Weekend on Sunday night at The Inn in Long Beach, NY.   A long-time favorite spot of the band's, The Inn is a great spot to celebrate the last official day of summer.

Kicking off autumn in fine fashion, we have a really fun show to mention happening in downtown White Plains on September 12th.  It's an all-day celebration called CityFest--A Taste of Downtown White Plains.   The event begins at noon and goes until about 8pm.  There will lots of great food and entertainment all day long.  DDS takes the main stage at 6PM, playing until about 8.   The action takes place on Mamaroneck Avenue between Post Road and Maple Avenue.  This will be tremendous fun, for sure, and we're looking forward to getting there early and enjoying the festivities!

We'll have our full fall schedule posted shortly.  Rest assured that the band will be making regular visits to all of our normal spots, including those in NEPA, Harrisburg, Long Island, Connecticut and Maryland.  Of course, we'll have plenty of Philly-area shows, too, both in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  We'll be playing The College of New Jersey homecoming again this year, too, and that's always a good time.  As always, we'll be getting back into the swing of adding new material once things settle down a bit.  We have loads and loads of new, fun ideas and can't wait to get working on them!  We'll have more updates in a few weeks, including news on our fall vacation and shows happening around Halloween and Thanksgiving.  Stay tuned and watch this space!
